Sahil Salathia Pays Tribute to His Mother at NYFW as He Transforms Her 35 Years Old Sarees Into a Cape

Currently, he is having a gala time attending the ongoing New York Fashion Week in the US. And while there, he also found a unique way to pay tribute to his mother through one of his outfits.

A Delhi based designer named Nafisa Rachel William has restored and turned Sahil’s mother’s sarees into a cape for him to wear at the NYFW.

Excited about the piece, Sahil shares, “Three of my mother’s Banarasi sarees have been turned into a massive cape. That’s very interesting and I am psyched up about wearing it today. Nafisa has made those sarees into a cape, restoring an outfit that is 35 years old. That’s a wonderful story when you keep your family’s tradition alive and carry that vintage value with yourself on a platform like this.”
