Is A Dodge Demon 170 With A $40k Markup Now Considered A Good Deal?
admin February 13, 2024 ArticleGiven that the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 serves as the final iteration of the beloved muscle car and is capped at just 3,300 units worldwide, it’s hardly a surprise that dealerships across the country have been looking to cash in with aggressive markups. Fortunately, it is possible to find a Demon 170 that won’t cost as much as a house.

This particular 2023 Demon 170 painted in White was recently listed for sale through Sandy Sansing Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Florida with a price tag of $158,641. While that’s a lot of money and the car includes a $40,000 dealer premium, that markup is smaller than some others we’ve seen.
Late last year, we came across several Demon 170s with markups approaching the $100,000 mark and in November, we even found one with a $250,000 markup.

A look at the window sticker on this Demon notes that it has an MSRP of $118,641, less than some other examples we’ve seen. One reason for this is that it has the available $1,995 cloth interior as opposed to the more common leather interior.

While a $40,000 markup is nothing to scoff at, the car looks to have been quickly sold through a Facebook group for Demon 170 sales and parts, confirming that there remains plenty of demand for the limited-run Challenger and people are still willing to pay a premium for it.

It would be easy to confuse the Demon 170 with lesser Hellcat-powered versions of the Challenger but the truth is that most parts have been upgraded, except the body panels. Motivation comes courtesy of a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 with 1,025 hp and 945 lb-ft (1,280 Nm) of torque, allowing it to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in a truly ridiculous 1.66 seconds with rollout.
