Investigations of sugary beverages and its potential health effects have been an active area of research interest. Several studies have found that sugary drinks is associated with having a higher risk of type 2 diabetes, hypertension and cardiometabolic disease, as well as a greater risk of depression and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease .
