Fiat Introduces 500e Giorgio Armani, Says Grande Panda Could Come To America

Fiat is celebrating their 125th anniversary by unveiling the new 500e Giorgio Armani and releasing additional details about the Grande Panda. The latter is the first member of their “new global family” and is “being studied” for North America.
Since we’ve already seen the Grande Panda before, we’ll focus on the electric variant that was detailed today. It will feature a 44 kWh battery pack that feeds a 111 hp (83 kW / 113 PS) electric motor. This setup is expected to give the model a WLTP combined range in excess of 199 miles (320 km). That’s not too shabby considering pricing will start at less than €25,000.

While Fiat reiterated plans for a hybrid variant, the company didn’t elaborate. However, the model is expected to have an eco-friendly powertrain that consists of a 100 hp (75 kW / 102 PS) three-cylinder engine, a 48V lithium-ion battery pack, and a six-speed dual-clutch transmission with an integrated electric motor producing 28 hp (21 kW / 28 PS).
Besides revealing some powertrain details, Fiat released a handful of interior pictures. As you can see, the model has a colorful cabin with a 10-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch infotainment system. They’re joined by a two-spoke steering wheel, a minimalist shifter, and a dash-mounted “Bambox.”
Elsewhere, there are stylish two-tone seats with yellow contrast stitching as well as lettering that says “Panda Made With Love In Fiat.” We can also see Fiat lettering on the door panels as well as a small trunk that holds 12.7 cubic feet (361 liters) of luggage.
Besides talking up the Grande Panda, Fiat introduced the 500e Giorgio Armani. Described as the “ultimate expression of Made in Italy,” the special edition features a unique Dark Green Micinalised or Ceramic Greige exterior with eye-catching “GA” wheels. Moving inside, there’s special seats and laser-cut wood trim.
We can expect to learn more closer to launch, but buyers can expect a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch infotainment system. They’ll be joined by a glass roof and a JBL premium audio system.
The special edition will be offered in Africa, Europe, North America, Australia, Japan, and the Middle East. When it arrives next year, it will have a WLTP combined range of up to 199 miles (320 km).
