Confused Cops Pull Over Dodge That Drives In Reverse Without Ever Going Backwards

At first glance, this Dodge pickup doesn’t look particularly out of the ordinary. But a closer look reveals a strange and clever twist. You see, unlike some other influencers who build and modify vehicles with wild bodykits or insane engine swaps, Champlin decided to do something a little different with this pickup. His idea? Flip the truck’s layout so the rear becomes the front and the front becomes the rear.

It may sound like a simple idea, but making it work was no easy feat. And, once it was built, it quickly caught the attention of local authorities who, within 200 yards of Champlin’s shop, pulled him over to see what exactly was going on.

An Inside-Out Build

To build the truck, the YouTuber and his team separated the cab from the original chassis and spun everything around. As before, the engine continues to be mounted to the front of the chassis, except now it sits in the bed of the truck that’s positioned up front. To make things like the steering and brakes work when Champlin is sitting backwards in the cabin, the steering column, brake lines, and pedals all had to be moved.

Champlin says the finished truck has functional headlights, turn signals, and is both fully legal and insured. Cruising down the road with the bed facing forward, it really looks like the truck is being driven in reverse. Except it’s not. It’s bizarre on video, and we can’t even imagine what it’d be like to see this thing in real life.

According to the YouTuber, the overhauled truck feels better this way around than it did when he first drove it. After a short run-in with two friendly cops after hitting the road, Champlin enjoys some care-free miles behind the wheel, even driving past several police cruisers who didn’t bat an eyelid.
