BMW E34 M5 Found In Garage Of Abandoned $1.5M Mansion

We all love the thrill of a good barn find. But these days, a more accurate term might be “garage find.” Just as classic cars are left to languish for decades in dusty old barns, more modern machines are often left forgotten in garages. Case in point: someone recently uncovered a BMW E34 M5, sitting quietly, neglected, in an abandoned mansion.
The performance sedan, found and filmed by two separate YouTube channels—BigBankz and Silent Hills Explorations— features a black exterior with an ivory leather interior. The owner appears to have placed German license plates on the front bumper and a Georgia plate on the rear. BMW’s famous S38 inline-six engine sits under the hood and a manual gearbox sends power to the rear wheels only.

Sadly, the explorers don’t provide many concrete details on the second generation M5 or its previous owner. Evidently, he was a doctor who owned several die-cast and model cars too. They believe this E34 M5 has been sitting abandoned since 2008. Allegedly, neighbors saw the owner as recently as 2015 but the filmmakers don’t provide any solid proof for any of their claims.
Regardless of its mysterious past, this is truly a car worth lusting after. While it’s no doubt out-performed by more modern M5s, the E34 was good enough that it spawned its descendants.
Produced from 1988 to 1995, the E34 M5 was available in the U.S. for the 1991-1993 model years, equipped with a 3.5-liter straight-six engine that delivered 310 hp and 265 lb-ft of torque. Unfortunately, American enthusiasts missed out on both the wagon (Touring) version and the uprated 3.8-liter variant with 335 hp (340 PS), due to emissions regulations.
It’s worth noting that this kind of forgotten luxury isn’t all that uncommon among the wealthy.

In a completely separate video, other abandoned house explorers survey what is allegedly Mary J. Blidge’s former home. While they don’t find anything interesting in the main home or garage, a separate building does house something special. In this case, it’s a DMC DeLorean and it appears to be in pristine condition.
Hopefully, one way or another, someone with a desire to restore these cars will obtain them and give them the life they deserve.
