Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals have qualified for the playoffs in the Indian Premier League 2024. Chennai Super Kings are also in contention for the next round. On the other hand, Mumbai Indians have been disappointing in the 17th season with just four wins after 12 matches.
In their last game against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Wankhede Stadium, Suryakumar Yadav single-handedly led them to a 7-wicket win. He scored an unbeaten 102 runs off 51 balls, laced with 12 fours and 6 sixes.
SRH captain Pat Cummins tied up SKY for one over but the explosive batter went on rampage after calming down his nerves. Former India player Harbhajan Singh was mighty pleased with the number one ranked batter in T20I rankings.
He compared him with former South Africa captain AB de Villiers.
“I haven’t seen a batter like him after AB de Villiers. He is our 360 degree player. Our desi 360 degree batter. We are proud of him. SKY was unstoppable against Sunrisers Hyderabad and didn’t allow the bowlers to bowl a testing line and length. There is no one like him at the moment,” Harbhajan Singh said on Star Sports.
Yadav was named the Player of the Match for his batting display.
