Umran Malik joins Sunrisers Hyderabad’s pre-season camp ahead of IPL 2024, gives important message to fans
Umran Malik has joined Sunrisers Hyderabad’s pre-season camp arrived in Hyderabad on Tuesday, 5 ahead of the of Indian Premier League 2024. Malik, who is one of the fastest bowlers, is looking forward to the new season.
Umran impressed everyone with his brilliant performance in the 2022 season of the tournament, taking 22 wickets in 14 matches.
However, he failed in 2023 and was even benched by the 2016 champions. He played just 8 matches and picked up 5 wickets at an economy of 11. The speedster was dropped from the Indian team after inconsistent performances.
Meanwhile, Umran Malik was recently awarded with a fast bowlers’ contract by the Board of Control for Cricket in India.
“The Selection Committee has also recommended Fast Bowling contracts for the following athletes – Akash Deep, Vijaykumar Vyshak, Umran Malik, Yash Dayal, and Vidwath Kaverappa,” the BCCI had said in its press release.
“I am feeling good. I want to do well for our supporters and show them that we are here to win. Inshallah, we will see you soon on the field and perform for you,” Umran Malik said.
SRH to play under new captain and coach
Pat Cummins will lead Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2024 after replacing Aiden Markram. Cummins was added to the team after SRH bought him for more than INR 20 crore.
Daniel Vettori is the new head coach of the Hyderabad-based franchise.
