India captain Rohit Sharma was upset with England and Ben Foakes after they celebrated the dismissal of Yashasvi Jaiswal even without getting a confirmation from the third umpire. During the 20th over of Indian innings, the Southpaw nicked Ollie Robinson’s delivery to the wicket-keeper.
However, it didn’t carry to the England wicket-keeper and the on-field umpires wnet to the third umpire, who declared that the ball had touched the ground before Foakes grabbed it. The visiting side was shocked when Yashasvi was given not out.
Rohit wasn’t impressed as he felt there was no need to celebrate the wicket. Rohit believed that England were already aware that it was not out and the reactions of Ben Stokes, Foakes and other players proved that they wasted time.
Rohit was seen reacting to the whole incident on camera. Rohit moved on from the episode and was relaxing in the dressing room.

Earlier in the day, Joe Root nicked Kuldeep Yadav’s delivery but it didn’t carry to Rohit at slips. The Indian skipper signalled to the umpire that he was not sure of the catch and threw the ball back to the bowler.
He made the signal to go for the third umpire but the expression on his face was enough tell the outcome.
“The reason Rohit isn’t happy there is because India had a similar moment during Joe Root’s innings, with the ball not carrying to Rohit and he straightaway confirmed it,” Nick Knight said in commentary.
Rohit was first Indian batter to depart after he was caught by Foakes on James Anderson’s ball for 2. The host nation kept losing wickets and was seven down at stumps on Day 2. India still trail by 134 runs, with Kuldeep and Dhruv Jurel at the crease.
