I’ve been thinking of and praying for the families of those we lost… and for our fans who were injured. Your loss is part of our story now. After they triumphed over the Punjab Kings in Ahmedabad, the team returned to Bengaluru, where a massive victory parade was planned at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The event, however, took a horrifying turn.
With an overwhelming crowd of 3 to 5 lakh fans, the situation quickly escalated into chaos. A tragic stampede resulted in 11 fatalities and left over 50 people injured.
Legal Consequences and Accountability
The incident triggered legal scrutiny. Investigations led by the Karnataka government blamed the RCB management. Authorities highlighted the fact that organisers failed to secure necessary police approval before hosting a large-scale public gathering.
