England win the toss and elect to bat first in the third Test, Jasprit Bumrah returns for India
Overview:
The series is levelled 1-1, with both teams winning one Test each. England registered a 5-wicket win in the series opener. On the other hand, India won the second game by 336 runs.
Ben Stokes won the third consecutive toss in three matches but decided to bat first, unlike the previous two instances.
“Mood’s good in the dressing room. Well fought Test series. We are pushing to come away from Lord’s 2-1 up. Bodies are all good. Quick turnaround so we used the time between games wisely,” says Stokes.
“We will bat first. The Mood is good. The series is well set, and we are pushing to make the scoreline 2-1. Bodies are good. Quick turnaround, but everyone is fresh and ready to go. Everyone wants to play at Lord’s,” Ben Stokes said.
Shubman Gill was not sure but said that he would have bowled first.
“I would have bowled first. If there is something in the wicket, it will be on the first day. Everyone contributed, with the batters and bowlers chipping in. Bowlers are pretty confident. It was not easy to take 20 wickets on that pitch, but our bowlers did a good job. I am feeling good. Jasprit Bumrah is back in place of Prasidh Krishna,” Shubman Gill said.
