Heinrich Klaasen was Sunrisers Hyderabad’s best performer in the Indian Premier League 2025. In the last and 14th match of the 18th season, the 23 crore buy, scored the third fastest hundred in the history of the tournament. He scored an unbeaten 105 runs off 39 balls, laced with 9 sixes and 7 fours as SRH posted 278/3 in the allotted 20 overs. Although Hyderabad won the contest by 110 runs, Klaasen was not happy with his display and even delivered a special message for team owner Kavya Maran.
Sunrisers finished the campaign in the sixth spot with 13 points from 14 games. Despite retaining the top players and adding Ishan Kishan, Harshal Patel and Mohammed Shami to the squad, the Men in Orange were below-par across departments. The attacking brand of cricket scripted their downfall and the batters never clicked together.
Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich scored over 400 runs in the ongoing edition but the remaining willow holders were easily undone by the rival bowlers. The bowling unit consistently leaked runs at an alarming rate.
“Franchise has invested a lot of money but we didn’t perform well. The owners gave us incredible holiday. They have been in the business for 12-14 years,” Heinrich Klaasen said.
“I couldn’t do what I wanted to do. I find my trajectory against KKR. I have been working on picking the line and length of the bowlers. I feel proud when I am able to do the job for my franchise,” he added.
