On April 30, Wednesday, Punjab Kings claimed their sixth victory of the IPL 2025 season by defeating Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. They are now in second place in the points table, which means they are closer to making the playoffs after this win. Shreyas Iyer guided the chase with an impressive half-century, successfully chasing down the tough target of 191 and setting a new record that had stood for 17 years at the ground.
Punjab secured a four-wicket victory, reaching the target with two balls to spare. He broke the record set by Virender Sehwag, who hit 71 off 41 balls in 2008 while captaining the Delhi Daredevils, and became the opposition captain with the highest individual score against CSK at Chepauk.

CSK scored 190 runs after batting first. Sam Curran scored 88 runs off 47 balls, followed by Dewald Brevis with 32. But CSK had a disastrous collapse, losing five wickets in seven balls. Yuzvendra Chahal took four wickets in the 19th over.
Prabhsimran Singh‘s second consecutive half-century gave the team a strong base. Iyer managed 72, followed by a rapid 23 from Shashank Singh.
