Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Delhi Capitals by six wickets in the Indian Premier League 2025. Chasing 163, the visiting team won the contest in 18.3 overs, with Krunal Pandya and Virat Kohli scoring fifties. DC captain Axar Patel put RCB under pressure with two early strikes, and the score was 26/3 at one stage.
However, a 100-plus run partnership between Virat Kohli and Krunal Pandya sealed the game in Bengaluru’s favour.
With seven wins and six consecutive in away matches, RCB are looking strong. On the other hand, Axar Patel was found wanting as a captain. He didn’t give the 19th over to Mitchell Starc, which proved costly as Tim David finished the game on Mukesh Kumar’s three deliveries.
“We were 10-25 runs short. It was not easy to bat in the first innings, as the ball was sticking a bit. However, the conditions improved in the second essay. We haven’t done well in the fielding department and dropped several catches. The wicket was hard for the batters, and we couldn’t do much with the bat,” he said.
‘We could have won the game if there were 10-15 runs extra and one batter stayed in the middle,” he added.
