Mumbai Indians bowled exceptionally well to restrict Sunrisers Hyderabad to 162/5 in 20 overs. However, their chase was not easy, as the team lost 6 wickets and took 18.1 overs to cross the finishing line. All the batters got starts, but none of them scored a fifty. Will Jacks was named the Player of the Match for taking two wickets and scoring 36 runs at the Wankhede Stadium. His deliveries spun a lot, restricting the batters from going for big shots.
He hit 3 fours and 2 sixes in the batting department but failed to remain not out. Former Mumbai player Harbhajan Singh slammed the MI willow holders, including Jacks, and accused him of throwing his wicket away in a closely fought game.
“Mumbai could have done better. Will Jacks threw his wicket away after getting set. Hardik Pandya tried to finish the game with a big hit but lost his wicket. Batting hasn’t clicked for Mumbai and they need improvement,” Harbhajan Singh said.
He also highlighted the poor fielding of the franchise. Mumbai dropped several catches and conceded extra runs. “Fielding has been below par. Mumbai fielders dropped catches, and even the bowling in the death overs was not good. They would need improvements in these two areas as well,” he added.
Mumbai are seventh in the points table after three wins from seven matches.
