Travis Head expressed immense joy as he sealed a deal with SunRisers Hyderabad for Rs 6.80 crore in the IPL 2024 auction. Despite interest from Chennai Super Kings, SRH successfully secured the talented Australian batter.
A key player in Australia’s 2023 ODI World Cup victory, Travis Head scored a century in the final against India. His achievement not only secured Australia’s sixth World Cup title but also earned him the distinction of being the seventh batter to score a century in a World Cup final.
Ecstatic about his move to SunRisers Hyderabad, Head acknowledges the team’s strong lineup and expresses excitement about joining the franchise.
“Hi Sunrisers fans, over the moon to be part of the team this year. The squad has many talented players, making it exciting. Heard great stories about the Orange Army, and how loud and vocal they are. Can’t wait to be a part of it all,” Head said in a video.
Head earlier played for RCB in two seasons, taking part in ten games and amassing 205 runs. His IPL statistics include an average of 29.29 and a single half-century.
Despite going unsold in the IPL 2023 auction, Head is now geared up for a fresh start with SRH.
