Yuzvendra Chahal, the Indian leg-spinner, made a public appearance alongside his Punjab Kings teammates, captain Shreyas Iyer and promising batsman Shashank Singh on the Bigg Boss 18 sets on January 10. A video shared on Instagram by Instant Bollywood showed the trio having a fun time, which captured the attention of their fans.
At the IPL 2025 auction, Punjab Kings secured Shreyas Iyer for a hefty INR 26.75 crore, making him the second-highest paid player of the auction, just behind Rishabh Pant, who was picked up by LSG for INR 27 crore. Iyer, who had a successful run with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in 2024, now looks to guide Punjab Kings to their first IPL title. Alongside him, Chahal was purchased for INR 18 crore, bringing his wealth of experience to the team as the most successful bowler in IPL history. Additionally, Punjab retained Shashank Singh for INR 5.5 crore after his massive performances with the bat in the last season.
Amidst the IPL excitement, Chahal made his first public appearance after rumors about his personal life began to circulate. Speculation arose when Chahal and his wife, Dhanashree Verma, unfollowed each other on social media, sparking discussions on their relationship status. To address the rumors, Chahal turned to Instagram to clarify the situation.
Chahal expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards his fans, saying, ‘I am incredibly thankful for the ongoing love and support from all my fans. Without this support, I wouldn’t have made it this far. But the journey is far from over there are still many incredible overs left to deliver for my country, my team, and my supporters.”
He also urged people to refrain from speculating about his personal life, as it had caused significant distress for him and his family. “I respectfully request that people refrain from engaging in speculation, as it has caused significant distress to both me and my family,” he continued, highlighting the importance of hard work and integrity.
