Indian players met Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese at the Parliament House in Canberra on November 28. He congratulated Virat Kohli on his century in the series opener of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 in Perth.
A video has gone viral on social media in which Albanese can be seen talking to speedster Jasprit Bumrah and Kohli. During their interaction, the Prime Minister spoke about Kohli getting a hundred in the second innings of the first Test.
“Good ton in Perth. As if we weren’t suffering enought at that point in the game.”
Kohli responded by saying: “Always got to add some spice.”
The Australian PM also spoke with Bumrah, as captain Rohit Sharma introduced the top leader to members of the Indian team.
Kohli amassed an unbeaten 100 runs off 143 balls after a gap of 491 days. The Jasprit Bumrah-led team defeated the Aussies by 295 runs to go 1-0 up in the five-match series. Bumrah was named the Player of the Match for taking 8 wickets.
