Lucknow Super Giants fast bowler Mohsin Khan has lauded former India National Cricket Team player MS Dhoni. He likes to watch the legendary cricketer bat and even called him his idol.
Dhoni is one of the biggest names in the history of Indian cricket, having won three ICC titles for the Men in Blue. He was also renowned for his match-winning innings across formats in international cricket. Dhoni was also magnificent for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League.
He led the franchise to five IPL titles before giving the captain’s armband to Ruturaj Gaikwad ahead of the 17th season. MSD has also played a big role in shaping the careers of several Indian cricketers. He is behind the success of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, and many other big names.
His influence is not limited to India; several overseas cricketers who played under his captaincy in the IPL have credited him with the success they have achieved for their national teams.
Mohsin, who plays for Lucknow Super Giants in the cash-rich league, recalled Mahi’s match-winning knock in the 2011 World Cup final against Sri Lanka.
“Dhoni bhai is my idol. His six-hitting ability is unbelievable. I was 13 of 14 when he hit that memorable six against Sri Lanka in the World Cup final. It felt like everyone was out on the streets to celebrate Diwali,” he said on the Shubhankar Mishra podcast.
Mohsin Khan doesn’t show his admiration for Dhoni when he is around. “I feel happy to watch him from far. I can’t talk to him directly but watching him bat gives me happiness.” Meanwhile, Dhoni will play for CSK in IPL 2025.
