India National Cricket Team allrounder Axar Patel has recalled how he and Mohammed Siraj were interviewed by Dinesh Karthik in English after the Men in Blue’s triumph in the ICC T20 World Cup win 2024 and how difficult it was for them.
Axar revealed that Siraj left the interview midway as he couldn’t continue for a long time.
India defeated South Africa by seven runs in the finale of the T20 World Cup in June but the players were struck in Barbados due to a hurricane. Axar recalled how Siraj was surprised when Karthik invited the pacer for an interview in English.
Axar, Rohit Sharma, Shivam Dube, Suryakumar Yadav and Arshdeep Singh recently attended Kapil Sharma’s show.
“Siraj said that Dinesh Karthik took our interview in English. Others were fluent but he didn’t understand why Karthik invited him and me for the interview,” Axar Patel said.
Kapil was curious to know if everything went right.
“He interviewed us in English and I don’t know what I said. Siraj left the interview midway saying that his English vocabulary is over,” Axar said.
The India all-rounder played all eight matches during the mega event. Axar took nine wickets at an average of 19.22 and he was named the Player of the Match for dismissing three England batters in the semifinal.
