There is no bad blood between the former Pakistan wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal and the current head coach of the India National Cricket Team, Gautam Gambhir. According to Kamran, he shares a good relationship with Gambhir despite their on-field issues.
Kamran called Gautam, his brother, and congratulated him on his first Test series win as the head coach of the Indian team. The Men in Blue defeated Bangladesh 2-0.
“We are good friends, and I have a good relationship with Gautam Gambhir. He is like my brother, and I would like to congratulate him on his first Test series win as a coach of the Indian team. I am happy for him,” Kamran Akmal told CricBlog.
Kamran also lauded MS Dhoni, saying that he often discussed wicket-keeping and batting with the Indian star.
“MS Dhoni was a match-winner and a calm person. We had a lot of conversations about batting and wicket-keeping, and it was good to talk to him,” he added.
Akmal mentioned that players take Dhoni’s suggestions whenever they get a chance to meet him.
“The other players and I still take suggestions from MS Dhoni when we meet him. He is a senior player and a good performer.”
Kamran Akmal announced retirement from all forms of cricket in 2023.
