Former South Africa cricketer Rusty Theron has claimed that Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf was involved in ball-tampering during the USA vs PAK match in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Theron, who now plays for the United States of America, highlighted the swing Pakistan howlers got after changing the ball after 12 overs.
Just an over after the change, Pakistan broke the partnership between Andries Ghous (35 off 26) and captain Monank Patel (50 off 38) of 68 (48) runs as Rauf got rid of Ghous. Theron asked the ICC to look into the matter as he questioned the reverse swing Haris got with the changed ball. The 38-year-old wrote that Rauf ran his thumbnail over the ball.

Amir soon got rid of the USA skipper to leave the co-hosts on 111/3 after 14.1 overs. Despite the two blows, Aaron Jones (36* off 26) and Nitish Kumar (14* off 14) managed to tie the game.
The match went to a Super Over, where Jones and Harmeet Singh scored 18 runs against Mohammad Amir.
In reply, USA’s Saurabh Netravalkar managed to keep Pakistan to 13 runs.
Pakistan will face arch-rivals India on June 9 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
