516,000-Mile Bentley Might Be One of the Highest Mileage Continental GTs Around

Plenty of interesting exotics and luxury cars are sold by Copart each week. Many look a little worse for wear after being involved in accidents, and this 2005 Bentley Continental GT is no different. However, this Bentley stands out from any other high-end luxury car we’ve seen because it has over 514,000 miles (827,000 km) on the clock. It may be one of the highest-mileage Continental GTs on the planet, but you’d have to be a brave soul to buy it.

Discovered by a Reddit poster, Copart has listed the car for sale through its location in Tampa South, Florida, and notes it has a salvage title after suffering damage across the front fascia. However, all things considered, the damage doesn’t appear too bad, and the car is certainly repairable.

You’ll notice the bumper has seen better days, and the lower part of it is missing after a collision. The Bentley is also sitting suspiciously low to the ground, perhaps suggesting the original air springs have failed and need replacing.

Perhaps the most remarkable thing about this Continental GT is how well the interior has stood up to 514,636 miles (828,226 km) of use. Obviously, the black leather adorning the front seats looks a little tired and has plenty of cracks and deep creases, but it appears to be free of any significant tears that could be costly to repair. The dashboard and steering wheel have also been well-preserved. The rear seats have been even more well-preserved than those up front, probably because they haven’t been used much.

The biggest mystery here is the car’s service history, or rather, the lack of it. Copart hasn’t provided any details, but clearly, someone over the years managed to keep the Bentley’s W12 engine running through nearly 515,000 miles of road. That’s no small feat, given the engine’s complexity.

Say what you will about Bentley reliability, but this car has been driven nearly 21 times around the Earth’s equator. That’s a lot of engine revolutions, oil changes, and probably a few tense moments in repair shops.

Worth the Gamble?

Is buying and repairing a damaged Continental GT with this many miles a sound financial decision? Oh, absolutely—if your financial plan involves lighting money on fire for warmth. Realistically, probably not. However, you could end up with the keys to a unique piece of Bentley history, and who doesn’t want a car that doubles as both a luxury coupe and a rolling monument to questionable life choices?
