Campers are nice, but they’ve got nothing on the comfort of a motorhome. These rolling behemoths, often outfitted with interiors that could rival some of the best luxury apartments, come with a hefty price tag, especially if you’re eyeing the top-tier options. Austria-based Marchi Mobile is known for crafting motorhomes that look like they’ve been plucked straight out of a sci-fi film.

The Marchi Mobile eleMMent series has been around for over a decade now, but it still turns heads every time it rolls by. The signature look of the eleMMent draws heavy inspiration from industrial designer Luigi Colani’s work in the ’70s and ’80s. Colani, who passed away in 2019, was famous for his obsession with quirky, aerodynamic designs that never looked like anything else.

The eleMMent itself carries the signature circular windscreen and curvaceous forms that made Colani’s designs so unique. The front end sports a large intake and round headlights, though earlier prototypes took a page from the first-gen Mercedes A-Class for their lighting units.

Measuring up to 45 feet (13.75 meters) long, the eleMMent motorhome offers an interior that’s as customizable as it is luxurious. Step inside, and you’re greeted by a spacious living room featuring two couches and a lounge table, plus a breakfast bar. The fully-equipped kitchen has all the essentials: sink, fridge, stove, and more. The bathroom even includes a spa, while the master bedroom comes with a king-size bed, and if you need more space, there’s a separate dressing room to stash your finest attire.

The cabin is packed with storage compartments, and radiant floor heating ensures you’re always kept warm. With dual 600-liter (21 cubic feet) tanks for fresh water and wastewater, plus two power generators, you can forget about being tethered to civilization for quite a while.

As with other luxury offerings in the high-end motorhome segment, the eleMMent offers custom options like expansive panels for the sides and roof. The Sky Lounge is an optional feature that turns the roof into a private terrace for kicking back and taking in the view. Depending on how you spec it out, the living area can range from 355 to 1,399 square feet (33 to 130 square meters), larger than your average European apartment.

The company also offers various configurations for VIP transportation or special events. One option features a bus-like cabin with 22 leather-wrapped heated seats, each equipped with its own display for maximum comfort and entertainment.

The Marchi Mobile eleMMent is built on tried-and-tested truck underpinnings from DAF or Volvo. A six-cylinder diesel engine delivering up to 600 horsepower propels this 26-ton (52,000-pound) giant to a top speed of 150 km/h (93 mph). Surprisingly, the aerodynamic front end isn’t just for show – it actually helps reduce fuel consumption compared to regular trucks and buses. So, while you’re rolling in luxury, you’re also saving the planet. Well, sort of.

Details on how many of these extraterrestrial-looking motorhomes have actually been produced are scarce, given Marchi Mobile’s neglected website and lackluster social media presence. But for those with deep pockets, listings on James Edition reveal that the price is available “upon request.” Word on the street is that the eleMMent costs somewhere between $2.2 million and $3 million, a number that ensures only the most exclusive clientele will ever get their hands on one.
