2026 Mazda3 Gets Pricier But At Least Keeps The Manual
Mazda’s compact hatchback and sedan gain a standard eight-speaker audio system

Mazda has managed to absorb much of the impact of import tariffs on the 2026 Mazda3 sedan and hatchback, keeping price increases to a minimum. The compact model, built in Japan, enters the new model year largely unchanged but with a few improvements to its standard equipment.
The entry-level Mazda3 sedan now starts at $24,550, just $400 more than last year. The hatchback begins at $25,550, up only $165 compared to its predecessor. Across the range, increases vary from $75 to $915 depending on trim and powertrain, which is relatively mild by today’s standards.

The Mazda3 first arrived in late 2018 as a 2019 model and, interestingly, it has yet to receive a proper facelift. Reports suggest the next generation might not appear until 2032, so Mazda is keeping things fresh with minor tweaks for now.
The biggest change for 2026 MY is that the eight-speaker Mazda Harmonic Acoustic audio system is fitted as standard from the entry-level S trim. The same applies to the 8.8-inch infotainment display, the LED lights, and the ADAS suite.
The base versions of both the sedan and the hatchback ride on 16-inch wheels, but the rest of the lineup upgrades to 18-inch alloys. Furthermore, the flagship Mazda3 Turbo Premium Plus gets a 10.25-inch infotainment, leather seats, and a 12-speaker audio system by Bose.

Powertrain choices remain the same as last year, with both naturally aspirated and turbocharged versions of the 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G four-cylinder gasoline engine.
The Mazda3 also continues to stand out as one of the few cars still offering a six-speed manual transmission, available on select trims alongside the six-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive comes standard, while Mazda’s i-Activ all-wheel drive system is offered on higher-spec models.
The 2026 Mazda3 sedan and hatchback will reach US dealerships this summer.
