2025 Honda Vezel Debuts In Japan With Outdoorsy Hunt Package

The Honda Vezel, known as the HR-V in Europe, has undergone a subtle facelift in Japan, three years after its initial debut. For the new model year, the compact crossover features minor visual updates, introduces a new outdoorsy “Hunt Package,” boasts a slightly enhanced hybrid powertrain, and includes minor equipment adjustments.

The 2025 Honda Vezel remains instantly recognizable but a direct comparison with its predecessor reveals the new front bumper and the revised LED graphics on the taillights. The most notable difference is the redesigned grille, which adopts a squared-off shape and looks slightly narrower. The dynamic lines above the bumper intakes have also been tweaked alongside the horizontal elements inside the full-LED taillights.

The interior retains the same 7-inch digital instrument cluster and 9-inch infotainment display. Safety equipment has been improved with the traffic jam assist, sudden acceleration suppression, and adaptive high beam functions. Furthermore, the Honda Connect allows remote operation of the electric tailgate from the user’s smartphone, together with other remote control features.

More importantly, Honda introduced a new “HuNT Package” based on the entry-level e:HEV X trim. This one gets roof rails, 16-inch aluminum wheels finished in Shark Gray Metallic, and orange accents on the bodywork, combined with the new Botanical Green Pearl color option. Inside, the “HuNT Package” features the Fabtech upholstery which is water- and oil-repellent.

Owners can also further enhance the aesthetics and practicality of the Vezel using a wide range of genuine accessories. These are organized into four recommended styles – urban, sports, casual, and active.

The updated Vezel remains available with a 1.5-liter petrol and a self-charging hybrid (1.5 e:HEV) powertrain options in FWD and AWD guises. Honda engineers refined the driving characteristics of the hybrid and added an updated energy management control system, said to reduce engine noise in urban environments.

The market launch of the 2025 Honda Vezel in Japan is scheduled for April 2024. It is safe to assume that the EU-spec Honda HR-V will receive similar updates sometime in the next few months.
