Rishabh Pant will return for Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League 2024. He has been out of cricket for more than a year after a fatal car accident in 2022.
Delhi Capitals’ Director of Cricket, Sourav Ganguly, looks forward to welcoming Pant back into the squad.
While speaking to RevSportz, Ganguly has said that Pant is ready to play for the franchise.
“It is a big thing for Delhi Capitals because Indian players are gold in the IPL. He hasn’t played competitive cricket for long and I hope he gets into the rhythmn soon. He has worked really hard and is confident to play for Ddelhi Ccapitals and India. I am happy he is back and hope he last through the season,” Ganguly told Revsportz.
Ganguly refused to commit on Pant coming back as a wicketkeeper. “It is too early to say anything about the wicket-keeping. Let him return first and then we will see. It is something that we can’t confirm at the moment as he was out for a long time,” he added.
It was reported earlier that Pant will be used as an impact player by DC, but the franchise’s co-owner, Parth Jindal, said that their skipper would play the entire season.
