Rezvani Transforms New 911 With 935-Like Body, Calls It The Retro RR1 750

Rezvani Motors is banking on enthusiasts’ affection for classics, coupled with their desire for modern comfort, with the introduction of the new Rezvani Retro line of vehicles. Expected to encompass a range of models, the first entry to the lineup is based on — what else — a Porsche 911.

The RR1, as it’s dubbed, is derived from the latest 992-generation model, ensuring modernity and drivability. Rezvani has adorned it with carbon fiber body panels reminiscent of the legendary racecars that dominated the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the 1970s, drawing inspiration from both the classic Porsche 935/78 and the contemporary 935, of which only 77 were ever produced in 2019.

As you can tell, the big wing at the back looks like it would be right at home on the Mulsanne Straight, and the RR1’s nose also has a bit of a slant to it, further evoking the racecars of the era. The Martini-inspired livery seen in these photos also helps sell the idea that the car belongs on a track.

But the upgrades will be more than skin deep. Rezvani plans to offer the car in three variants, the first of which is the RR1 550. Based on the 2020 Porsche 911 Carrera S, it is tuned to deliver 550 hp (410 kW / 558 PS). In addition to the new bodywork, which shaves weight off the car, buyers will be offered Ohlins TTX-Pro coilovers and a new exhaust system to help improve performance.

Moving up from there, the RR1 565 is based on the 992 Porsche 911 GT3 platform, and makes 565 hp (421 kW / 573 PS), is offered with either a six-speed manual or a PDK transmission, and promises thrilling performance.

Finally, the top of the line model is the RR1 750. Also based on the 911 Turbo S platform, it has been tuned to make 750 hp (559 kW / 760 PS). To go with that, Rezvani is offering either a street- or track-tuned suspension setup, depending on your needs.

Rezvani plans to build a total of just 50 examples of the RR1, and prices for the kit start at $149,000. That price does not include the base vehicle, which the owner must provide themselves. On its website, the company also warns that prices will increase after the five examples of the vehicle are sold, so you better get your order in fast.
