An astrologer named Pandit Girjesh Chaturvedi interacted with News 18 Hindi and talked about the rituals one can perform on this day to overcome problems in different aspects of life. These aspects include marriage, education, business, and Kaalsarp dosh. Let’s take a look at the steps suggested by Pandit Girjesh to eradicate difficulties in these spheres of life.

1. Marriage– Maha Shivratri is an important occasion for devotees who want to increase their marriage prospects. They should go to Shivalaya and apply saffron mixed with turmeric on Shivalinga. They should then offer it as a prasad to Lord Bholenath, which will increase their chances of finding a suitable partner.

2. Education and Business– As per Pandit Girjesh, Gayatri Mantra should be written on Bel Patra leaves and offered to Lord Shiva. This will help the devotees make great strides in the field of education. People who are facing problems in business should visit the temple of Lord Bholenath on this day and offer Shankh or conch, cowry shells, and Khadi Haldi to Lord Shiva. Offering these things to Lord Shiva is said to facilitate a great start to the business.

3. Kaalsarp Dosh– Pandit Girjesh has also suggested remedies for the devotees who have Kaal Sarp Dosh, or any Rahu Ketu dosha in their birth chart. In this case, the devotees should worship Lord Shiva and perform the Shiva Abhishekam. They should also purchase silver or a pair of snakes made of copper which should then be offered to the Shiva temple. Shiva Abhishekam is an important ceremony in the Hindu religion where worshipers praise the god Shiva by giving his lingam, or sacred relic, a ritual bath.

Pandit Girjesh also said that after a long time, three yogas will be formed on the occasion of Maha Shivratri. They are Shiva Yoga, Siddhi Yoga, and Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga. As per the Delhi-based astrologer Pandit Alok Pandya, the idol of Nandi, Parad Shivling and Copper Pots should be purchased on this day. These things are a sign of good omen.
