When Rimac, Koenigsegg, And Singer Bosses Swap Cars, All Hell Breaks Loose
Three legendary builders swapped high-performance machines at a famous test track, pushing limits and sharing raw reactions

For years, Mate Rimac and Christian von Koenigsegg have been fiercely competing for world records, but the two share a strong mutual respect for each other and are huge fans of what each brand builds. So, when Top Gear invited both of them down to their test track to drive each other’s cars, it came as no surprise that they were very impressed with what they discovered.

The clips are part of an ongoing Top Gear series where hypercar bosses take each other’s machines for a spin. Last year, Rimac and Koenigsegg shared the track with John Hennessey, driving the Jesko Attack, Nevera, and Venom F5 Revolution.
This time, they were joined by Rob Dickinson. His name may be less familiar, but as the founder of Singer, he’s responsible for some of the most desirable 911 reinterpretations on the planet. While Singer doesn’t build hypercars, its exquisitely reimagined Porsches carry hypercar-level price tags.
A Gearbox Like No Other
Koenigsegg brought along its latest hypercar for the test, the CC850. Mate Rimac was the first to get behind the wheel of it, immediately expressing a huge interest in its trick gated six-speed manual transmission, which also doubles as a normal automatic. Clearly used to driving quick cars, Rimac isn’t afraid of immediately pushing the car to its limits and seeing just how old school the transmission feels.
Rob Dickinson also had a blast in the CC850, before the man behind Koenigsegg joined Mate for a spin in the limited-edition Bugatti Mistral. Both Christian and Mate then had the chance to drive one of Singer’s fabulous DLS 911s, and while it may not be a hypercar, it provides many of the same driving thrills. Mate praises the transmission in particular and mentions in the clip that he has already placed an order for his own Singer.
Towards the end of the video, he gets a chance to show off the new Nevera R. While it doesn’t have the same emotion as the CC850 or Singer DLS, it offers a whole different level of straight-line performance.
