Poonawalla Fincorp assets under management up 53% at ₹41,273 crore

Poonawalla Fincorp Ltd reported a 53 per cent year-on-year growth in assets under management (AUM) at ₹41,273 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2025. The non-banking financial company’s board approved raising ₹1,500 crore through preferential equity issuance to promoters, subject to shareholder approval.

The Mumbai-based NBFC’s net interest income grew 13.6 per cent year-on-year to ₹768 crore during the quarter. AUM increased 15.8 per cent quarter-on-quarter, driven by a risk-calibrated approach focusing on secured lending.

The company maintained stable asset quality, with gross non-performing assets at 1.84 per cent and net NPAs at 0.85 per cent. The provision coverage ratio stood at 53.93 per cent. Credit costs reduced by 53 basis points quarter-on-quarter.

Poonawalla Fincorp’s loan portfolio comprises 36 per cent MSME financing, 25 per cent loans against property, 23 per cent personal and consumer finance, and 13 per cent pre-owned car finance. The secured-to-unsecured book ratio is 57:43.

The company’s capital adequacy ratio was 20.55 per cent, well above the regulatory requirement of 15 per cent. It maintained a liquidity buffer of ₹4,465 crore as of June 30, 2025.

Managing Director Arvind Kapil said the promoter capital infusion strengthens the company’s growth plans and supports building sustainable, profitable model.

The shares of Poonawalla Fincorp Ltd ended at ₹412.45, down by ₹20.00 or 4.62 per cent, on the NSE today.
