Top gainers & losers today 10th July: Sensex, Nifty 50 fall ahead of TCS Q1 results; Wipro, Tech Mahindra & Infosys among top losers
admin July 10, 2025 ArticleEquity benchmark indices traded in negative territory amid the start of earnings season. In addition, the continued tension over US-India trade deal negotiations rattled investor sentiment.
Sensex traded 270.05 pts or 0.32 per cent lower at 83,266.03 as at 12.38 pm, hitting an intraday low of 83,151.65, and Nifty 50 dropped by 67.50 pts or 0.26 per cent to 25,408.60.
Both midcap and smallcap indexes dipped 0.30 per cent and 0.25 per cent, respectively.
Defence, IT, pharma, PSU Bank were among the major sectors that traded in red. Realty and metal staged resilience.
Top gainers & losers intraday
Shares of Maruti Suzuki, Jio Financial, IndusInd Bank, Tata Steel and Bajaj Finance led the gainers of Nifty 50, while Bharti Airtel, Cipla, Wipro, Tech Mahindra and Infosys depreciated largely.
At the time of writing, all IT stocks traded in red, Coforge and OFSS declining 2 per cent, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, Infosys and Persistent Systems down by 1 per cent. TCS traded flat ahead of Q1 results.
A total of 2,874 stocks were traded on the National Stock Exchange, of which 1,251 advanced and 1,525 declined. Glenmark, QPower, Prostarm, Samhi Hotels and Scoda Tubes featured among the 64 stocks that hit 52-week high, while Dreamfolks, Ola Electric, Protean eGov and 21 others hit a 52-week low.
On the other hand, VIP Clothing and Semac were among 66 stocks that hit the upper circuit, and 22 stocks hit the lower circuit.
Midcap & smallcap movers
Glenmark, Premier Energies, Paytm, Prestige, IREDA and HDFC AMC gained 2-4 per cent in the midcap basket, while Bharat Dynamics, MRF, Bharat Forge, Alkem, BSE and Coforge depreciated 2-4 per cent.
Among smallcap, Nuvama, BLS, Go Digit, Sagility and IIFL soared nearly 3 per cent, while Atul, MCX, Neuland Laboratories, Data Patterns, BEML, Zen Tech and GRSE fell nearly 2 per cent.
On the BSE, Lloyds Engineering, Campus Activewear and UTIAMC zoomed over 6 per cent. Avantel, Bayer Crop, DWC and Metropolis declined 3-5 per cent.
