Asian Paints shares trade higher at ₹2,497.30 despite muted FY25 results

Asian Paints shares were trading higher at ₹2,497.30 on the NSE as of 12.40 pm on July 9, 2025, gaining 0.51 per cent from the previous close, despite the company reporting a challenging financial performance for FY25. The stock touched an intraday high of ₹2,535.00 amid active volumes of over 17 lakh shares and a traded value of ₹431 crore.

At its recently held 79th Annual General Meeting, Chairman Manish Choksi highlighted that FY25 was marked by weak consumer sentiment, especially in urban markets and rising competitive pressures. The company’s standalone revenue declined 5.4 per cent to ₹29,553 crore, while profit after tax fell sharply by 32.6 per cent to ₹3,585 crore. Consolidated revenue dropped 4.5 per cent to ₹33,906 crore, with net profit down by 33 per cent at ₹3,710 crore.

To strengthen future performance, Asian Paints is focusing on institutional and projects business, securing government approvals in sectors like railways and defense, and expanding its home décor segment through Beautiful Homes stores. Internationally, the company exited Indonesia to reallocate resources and focus on core markets.

The Board recommended a final dividend of ₹20.55 per share, bringing the total FY25 payout to ₹24.80 per share, lower than the previous year’s ₹33.30. Looking ahead, Asian Paints remains committed to defending market share and enhancing brand saliency through innovation, sustainability, and backward integration into raw materials. The management expressed confidence in overcoming near-term challenges through strategic initiatives and customer-focused growth.
