Scooter Rider Brushes Off Near-Death Experience After Getting Run Over By A Car

Despite not wearing a helmet, the rider somehow walked away from the accident

A scooter rider in Asia appears to have miraculously survived a terrifying crash despite being run over and having his head struck by a car. Had things turned out a little differently, the man could have been instantly killed.

Security cameras captured the accident, as well as what led up to it. In the clip, the driver of a silver sedan can be seen turning right, heading towards either the entry or exit of a parking lot. However, just as the car begins to turn, a white scooter comes into view and slams into the front of the sedan.

The force of this impact propels the rider onto the bonnet of the car. Rather than immediately stopping, the driver looks to have pinned the throttle, pushing the rider off the bonnet and in front of the car. As he tumbles to the ground, the car drives right over him.

While it’s difficult to see if the front wheel of the car struck the man’s head, one of the rear wheels can be clearly seen rolling directly over his dome. While he was only wearing a hoodie at the time and had no helmet to protect him, he can seen brushing off the impact and gingerly getting back to his feet, walking away from the crash!

He may have to thank divine intervention (or sheer dumb luck) for not being killed on the spot. Just as the man flipped under the front of the car, it veered into four small bollards, and this appears to have briefly lifted it off the pavement. This may have minimized the forces on the rider’s head, and helped him avoid getting crushed like a pancake.

However, it’s worth mentioning that just because the man appears fine after the crash, that doesn’t mean they avoided injury. Adrenaline immediately kicks during accidents like this, and it’s possible he may have in fact suffered internal injuries and/or head trauma. Hopefully, he was transferred to a hospital where he was thoroughly checked out and he is okay after all.
