The next 2XKO update should (hopefully) be coming this month, filled with all the juicy details about Jinx, gameplay changes and more

This is not a drill! New 2XKO news has popped up on social media that makes this month way more exciting than it would be otherwise. The news is, well it’s an announcement of a future development update video, but we can now firmly say that a detailed briefing on changes to the game, Jinx, and the next Alpha Lab test should be coming soon.

The deliverer of this news? Mr Ben Forbes, editor-in-chief for 2XKO, who posted the latest on Twitter. He writes, “We just filmed the next 2XKO update! We’re still working through edit/production/localisation etc, but here’s what you can expect: A deep dive on our gameplay changes since Alpha Lab 1 (including Jinx!), some context and info on Alpha Lab 2, and a showmatch ft. the dev team”

The tweet continues, “It’s a detailed update that gets pretty indepth, so the video is running pretty long (probs an hour or so?). We’re looking to get the update out during the last week of March. We’re not quite ready for the wide world of PowerPoint livestreams yet, but one day…”.

Before you get your hopes up too much, Ben would also state that there are no new character reveals in this update. So don’t start betting on it or anything.

Last year, the 2XKO team left us with a “See you next year” message informing us that new details would be dropping this February. Instead, game director Shaun Rivera took to Twitter himself to state a few changes. These include a change in scope in the next Alpha Labs test, and a new fuse for the game.

It looks as though timelines having shifted somewhat internally at Riot alongside a change in plans to the Alpha Lab tests has pushed the planned February update to this month. Either way, with the game still set to release this year, it’ll be good to get an up-to-date info dump on what’s going on, what’s being worked on, and perhaps where we can expect to see 2XKO next out in the real world.
