REPUBLIC DAY 2024: The Beating Retreat Ceremony serves as the majestic conclusion to the week-long Republic Day (R-Day) celebration. It is scheduled to take place on January 29 at Vijay Chowk, Delhi. This year’s ceremony promises to be a spectacular event presided over by the President Droupadi Murmu.
A highlight of this year’s Beating Retreat Ceremony will be a grand fanfare featuring 29 tunes inspired by Classical Ragas. The tunes will be played by bands of the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force and CAPFs. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
Additionally, the event boasts the distinction of hosting the largest Drone Show to date, with 3,500 indigenous drones illuminating the sky over Raisina Hill, providing a breathtaking visual spectacle.
