As our Goa trip was coming to an end (P.S. – I was a little sad), we made our way to Varca for the last couple of days. Our final stop was Sea Breeze Sarovar Portico, but we decided to take a little detour. We started our trip by making a quick stop at Cabo de Rama beach, and I couldn’t help but feel like I had stepped into a postcard. It’s true that there’s something extra special about South Goa—the quieter, more serene side of this beautiful coastal state. As we made our way to the cliff, the views honestly blew us away.

As soon as we entered, the hotel staff surprised us by gathering in a circle and singing their own version of the classic Bappi Lahiri song, “Dilli Se Aaya Mera Dost.” It was such a heartwarming moment that made me feel like I was in the right place! After enjoying some laughs and refreshing coconut water, we made our way to lunch.
A Taste of Goan Flavours
I’d been dreaming of Goan food since the moment I landed in Goa, so when I heard we were going to have a traditional Goan thali for lunch, I was beyond excited. Flavours, the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant, quickly became one of my favorite spots. The general manager of the hotel, Allan Pachaco, also joined us for lunch. He kept the conversation going by sharing some fun local stories and busting a few Goa myths along the way.
When the thali finally came, it was a feast for the senses. As you already know by now, I am a vegetarian, so I skipped the Goan delicacies that weren’t vegetarian. I had the North Indian thali instead, packed with paneer, lentils, and seasonal vegetables. But they have amazing options (prawn wafers are a must-try) for non-vegetarians—I heard all about them from the rest of the people at the table.
A Rickshaw Ride to the Beach
One of the best parts of Goa is the laid-back vibe, and what better way to soak it all in than with a rickshaw ride? We hopped onto an electric rickshaw, which turned out to be way more fun than driving, and made our way to the beach, just a few minutes from the hotel. The beach was peaceful, with only a few tourists scattered around. We set up a little picnic with snacks, drinks, and plenty of laughter. I even got the chance to experience parasailing—and trust me, it was the best decision of my life. It felt like the perfect moment, and it’s something I’ll always remember from my first trip to Goa.
