Select Audi Q7 And Q8 Models Need An Airbag Fix
A total of 1,001 examples of the 2023-2024 Q7 and Q8 will need to be returned to dealerships in the U.S.

Airbag-related issues seem to be all too common nowadays and a few new Audi Q7 and Q8 models are the latest vehicles to be recalled as a result of an airbag fault. Fortunately, the carmaker is not aware of any injuries related to the issue, nor does it know of any warranty claims, customer complaints, or field reports.
Audi has revealed that the driver seat side airbag in impacted vehicles may not have been properly mounted into the seatback frame. As such, an inflated airbag could be pushed out of position, meaning select Q7 and Q8 models will not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards and there’s a greater risk that the driver could be injured in a crash.

A total of 1,001 vehicles in the United States are involved in the recall. These consist of 2023-2024 Audi SQ8 models built between August 11, 2023, and October 19, 2023, 2024MY Audi SQ7s built from August 15, 2023, to September 26, 2023, 2023-2024MY RSQ8 models made from August 15, 2023, to November 3, 2023, 2023-2024MY Audi Q8s made from August 11, 2023, to October 23, 2023, and 2023-2024MY Audi Q7s assembled from August 11, 2023, to October 26, 2023.
The manufacturer says that worker error in the seat assembly line at supplier Forvia is to blame for the issue. Audi first became aware of a potential problem on November 6, 2023, when it discovered that the driver seat side airbag of one car was not properly mounted during routine production monitoring.
Owners of impacted Q7 and Q8 models will be alerted to the recall on or before February 16. Dealers will inspect the driver seat side airbag and reinstall it if necessary.
